The landmark report on killings of environmental defenders from Global Witness

The invaluable and much-cited 2015 report from Global Witness which drew attention to the scale of killings of environmental activists in the global South. Several Latin American countries experience the highest rates of such killings. You can download the report form their page, explore the map infographic, and read about the murder of Berta Cáceres in Honduras.

Global Witness also has a special investigation on Honduras: The Deadliest Country in the World for Environmental Activism.
